Here are some helpful winter home maintenance tips to ensure safety.
It’s wintertime in Texas, so here are a few maintenance tips that you need to know for your home this winter:
1. Service your HVAC system. Ideally, you’d do this twice per year, but if you haven’t already done so this year, I recommend getting it cleaned and serviced now. If you stay on top of the maintenance in these systems, they’ll last so much longer.
2. Clear out your gutters. Now that all the leaves have fallen and are off the trees, get that debris out of your gutters. Sometimes this debris can cause big problems if not addressed. Also, make sure your gutter extensions are taking any moisture away from your slab foundation.
3. Turn off your sprinkler system. Some systems will have rain and freeze guards, but turn it off just in case.
4. Cover up your water spigots. This helps prevent freezing when the temperature drops.
